Monstaville Book I. Chapter 4

"The whole secret of existence is to have no fear. Never fear what will become of you, depend on no one. Only the moment you reject all help are you freed."
- Buddha.

Angel Card: Harmony.

Use your power to maintain and restore harmony. There can be no harmony without light. That is the ultimate truth. People cannot afford to ignore the Divine. If they do then the dark shadow moves in and seeks to devour all the tiny sparks - the people who should be on their way to becoming gods but who are, instead, reverting to being little sparks or embers living in darkness.

If you stay, you can try to pay off your debts. Dig your heels in. Live in the dark world but as Light reminding it of the power and glory of Divine Being. To be a sun, you can’t hide away exclusively in a world of Light. You must shine your light in an environment of darkness; illumine the darkness, not cave in and lose your light. Channel and become MORE Light. Don’t diminish and lose it and become less! More yang, more Light.

That guy upstairs - ‘Pigsy monster’ - senses you have power, and that’s why he thinks you’re fair game. He also resents your special qualities, your class and unique style, associating them with some cultural privilege or something (although, if that were true, why would I have ended up in a ghetto? - alas, it is all he understands). But if you don’t express power the same way - you defeat him. You win. Because it is a different - and greater - power.

“He who is afraid of a thing gives it power over him.” - Moorish Proverb.

~Be a Light in the Darkness~

Don’t be intimidated. Your power of Light is greater than his power of darkness and you can shine it at any time, not just when you meet.

The dark forces use such people to intimidate the vulnerable and nervous, the sensitive and shy, spreading fear and anxiety, negativity.

You must avoid negativity in yourself and respond to darkness with increasing light. This is the way to strengthen and increase your light. In a sense - or ultimately - you need the darkness so you can shine your light and illumine it. Light likes an object to shine on to.

“In the practice of tolerance, one’s enemy is the best teacher.” – The Dalai Lama.

The best thing to do is believe/express yourself as if Pigsy is a reformed character, as if he has shed the darkness and is reborn, filled with sweetness and love. Deny the darkness that ‘was’ in him. Forget it - do not think of it and do not refer to it. Treat him only as if he is a welcome student of Light, of the spiritual way.

The darkness will hate that - if you forget and leave behind your fear and anxiety, and think Pigsy as only being sweet and loving. Plus - heal his soul; try to bring peace to his inner traumas from childhood. He needs healing. You don’t have to mention the episode to the landlord. Always speak to - and of - him as if he is kind-hearted. It will nourish the good part of him and make it harder for him to deny it. Remind him of the love and light within him. Smile and show that happiness is a result of Light, not negative energy, drink and darkness. ‘Address the Higher Self in others,’ as Master Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov puts it.

“Happiness is a by-product of an effort to make someone else happy.” - Gretta Brooker Palmer.

‘Love doesn’t want.’

“‘When the time is at hand thy mind will be prepared, and the way will open before ye so that ye shall know of a surety that the hour hath struck.
‘But for the present, I would, my son, that ye attend to the necessary preparation, for ye must be at all points protected, for the enemy is watchful and lieth in wait to catch ye unawares. In the battle that is before ye there is no retreat, and once the banner hath been raised ye must follow thy Lord even though he lead thee to the gate of hell. For the powers of evil are arrayed against such as defy them and those who would rob them of their prey; and none know the extremity of suffering which they can inflict save those who have passed through the valley of humiliation.”
                - St. Francis (The Shining Brother. Recording the spirit return of St. Francis of Assisi and its sequel Francis Speaks Again by Laurence Temple, Psychic Press, London, U.K., 1941, p.240-241).

"When it's dark enough you can see the stars." - Charles A. Beard.

“A Buddha is someone who finds freedom in good fortune and bad.” - Bodhidharma.

Retrospective inserts.

God allows us all to be who we are within our capabilities and to choose to evolve or not to evolve. So, we share a planetary and galactic environment in which to express ourselves and learn. And, so, perhaps we need the dark entities in order to grow and express more of our power and Light as individual beings. On Earth, we have free will, and we have our karma from the misuse of same. Then, we’re on our own, just as the seed must grow through struggle to put down the roots of strength and wisdom in order to rise above the soil and find the Light within. So, individually and collectively, we have this jungle in which to live, survive and grow. In a garden, the seeds struggle against weeds but, also, other plants and even trees have to demonstrate their strength and require assistance from those who want to protect them from the weeds and vines. It appears that the conflict between Light and dark exists on many levels beyond our human dimension on Earth.

“Fear is like darkness. What can you do about darkness directly? You cannot drop it, you cannot throw it out, you cannot bring it in. There is no way to relate with darkness without bringing light in. The way to darkness goes via light. If you want darkness, put the light off; if you don't want darkness, put the light on. But you will have to do something with light, not with darkness at all.
The same is true about love and fear: love is light, fear is darkness. The person who becomes obsessed with fear will never be able to resolve the problem. It is like wrestling with darkness - you are bound to be exhausted sooner or later, tired and defeated. And the miracle is, defeated by something which is not there at all! And when one is defeated, one certainly feels how powerful the darkness is, how powerful the fear is, how powerful the ignorance is, how powerful the unconscious is. They are not powerful at all - they don't exist in the first place...
Hence, Atta, the first thing to remember is: don't make a problem out of fear.
Love is the question. Something can be done about love immediately; there is no need to wait or postpone. Start loving! And it is a natural gift from God to you, or from the whole, whichever term you like...
Remember, love is born with you; it is your intrinsic quality. All that is needed is to give it a way - to make a passage for it, to let it flow, to allow it to happen. We are all blocking it, holding it back.”
                - Osho (Come, Come, Yet Again Come, Chapter 10, ‘Everybody Can Laugh,’ Rajneesh Foundation, Pune, India, 1980).

“A Lebanese sage wrote about karma in these terms: ‘Man invites his own calamities and then protects against the irksome guests, having forgotten how, and when, and where he penned and sent out the invitations. Time does not forget, and Time delivers in due season each invitation to the right address, and Time conducts each invite to the dwelling of the host.’” - Raynor C. Johnson (Light of All Life, p.23).

“Everybody, soon or late, sits down to a banquet of consequences.” - Robert Louis Stevenson.

“‘For the fruits of evil thought are made manifest to ye during the days of thy struggle, and ye must meet and fight the phantoms which thy mind hath created in hours of weakness or fleshly pride before ye can set thy feet upon the starlit path. But the delicate wraiths of beauty and of purity which have issued forth when thy mind soared toward Eternal Truth, await the time of the final dissolution of the outward frame; and gather round the soul, adorning the ascension, and heralding the approach to the Kingdom of the Unbegotten.’” – St. Francis (The Shining Brother. Recording the spirit return of St. Francis of Assisi and its sequel Francis Speaks Again by Laurence Temple, Psychic Press, London, U.K., 1941, p.189).

“The only thing that can help is going deeper into yourself, realising the inner sky, and the freedom that comes with it, and the fragrance of the beyond…And, obviously, most of the people live life in such a way that it creates more and more misery. The whole programming of humanity is for misery. So, one starts thinking, ‘How to get out of the circle of life and death?’ That is not really going to help. You have to learn to get out of the programming the society has given to you. Once you are out of that programming, you are out of birth and death and the so-called circle. But, feeling miserable, he may have thought it is better to get out of birth and death.” – Osho (Excerpt from an Osho talk titled, ‘Yukusan. Straight to the Point of Enlightenment . No.4,’ Osho International Foundation, 2006. Source: YouTube video titled ‘Osho: Zen and the Art of Escaping the Circle of Life and Death,’ posted on 30 August 2006 by OshoInternational,

“Life is the farce we all perform.” - Arthur Rimbaud (Une Saison en Enfer: Mauvais Sang, Bad Blood, translation by A.S. Kline).
“Now please pause and take several deep breaths...for even the word fear can trigger apprehension in your emotional body whereas breathing can relax that condition and is always your ally in any emotive circumstance.” - Jeshua (‘The Christ,’ channelled through Virginia Essene, New Teachings For An Awakening Humanity, Spiritual Education Endeavours Publishing Company, Santa Clara, CA., U.S., 1986, updated 1994, p.234).

Trouble is part of your life - if you don't share it, you don't give the person who loves you a chance to love you enough.” - Dinah Shore.

Play: ‘Life After You’ by Chris Daughtry (song from 2009). Not sure I’ve ever heard it personally but I had a quote here about laughter which I have removed to save myself the license fee (I don’t have) for reproducing a line or two of lyrics from a song…stupid, patriarchal, controlling nonsense that I deem this act of sabotage to be!

“One has to become more and more alive, full of zest, gusto, intensity. One should not withhold. When you are full of life love starts happening on its own accord, because what you will do with life, what you will do with that overflowing energy? You will have to share it - that’s what love is: sharing of your life energy. And the moment you share your life energy all sadness disappears, then life is just a heartfelt laughter.” – Osho (
