Monstaville Book I. Chapter 43

43

“Before getting angry for the mistakes of others one should always remember one’s own mistakes.”
- The Mother (Seeds of Light).

The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ by Levi (an excerpt from p.18 of the introduction):

“Without a foe a soldier never knows his strength, and thought must be developed by the exercise of strength.

“And so this carnal nature soon became a foe that man must fight, that he might be the strength of God made manifest.”

Don’t worry about Pigsy. He’s just like a mosquito or bad smell you have to put up with a bit. Just try to avoid him. Leave him to fester in his own swamp. Don’t go near it or get sucked in. Keep away. He can’t come near you. He’s on a different plane. He’s in the swamp; you’re in the trees. Good luck to him. Don’t be affected by his negativity. Ignore him. Be confident and live your life.

Mr. Pigsy can’t handle the idea of being challenged. He is competitive: only he can confront others. He finds it humiliating (and especially cannot take the risk of looking like the loser he is in front of his girlfriend). So he confronted you and he waits to keep you wary of him and scared in case you ever confront him. And show you what he’d like to do to you if you do.

The reality is that if he ever does anything like that he’s going to be the one in danger. He uses his desire to lose his temper and have power when he’s drunk to impress people and keep men at bay so he can be gentle (and feeble) the rest of the time. One extreme protects the other. That’s okay unless the other person is there all the time! Like living downstairs! Then he thinks that, if you’re scared of him, it will only take a bit of noise to intimidate you and remind you that he wants to kill you!

View the demon as a dog. You’re like a canine defector, exploring your feminine side. That’s why he doesn’t like you and views you as easy prey he can intimidate. The only remedy, since you no longer have the physical power and aggression of a dog, is to learn to be more like a cat, to use the feminine to your advantage. A cat avoids the dog but doesn’t worry. It can outsmart it. It does its own thing. When it sees the dog it simply goes elsewhere.

“If you’re not smart, you’d better be strong.” - Gangs of New York (directed by Martin Scorsese, 2002).

Big Fish (directed by Tim Burton, 2003).

In one of the stories of his youth, Ed Bloom (Ewan McGregor) is attacked by a vicious black wolf upon invading its territory. But, subsequently, he finds that by throwing a stick in desperation the wolf actually runs after it and brings it back to him to play some more.

The older Ed Bloom (Albert Finney): “It was that night I discovered most things you consider evil or wicked are simply lonely and lacking in social niceties.”

It turns out that the wolf was his boss at the circus (Amos Calloway played by Danny DeVito) whom he later finds naked with the stick in his mouth. The scene is concluded with a funny shot of Danny DeVito scratching his ear with his foot ecstatically like a dog!

“Above all things be strong and manly. Physical weakness is at the root of at least a third of our unhappiness.” - Vivekananda.

The Dhammapada 18. Hasten and Strive.

“Life seems easy for those who shamelessly are bold and self-assertive, crafty and cunning, sensuously selfish, wanton and impure, arrogant and insulting, rotting with corruption.

But life seems difficult for those who peacefully strive for perfection, who free from self-seeking are not self-assertive, whose life is pure, who see the light.”

“May you have enough happiness to make you sweet,
Enough trials to make you strong,
Enough sorrow to keep you human,
Enough hope to make you happy.”
- Anon.

Love (channelled from Gildas through Ruth White I think).

“Love is taken so much for granted in your world. You use the word so lightly; you have only the one word to cover so many kinds of feeling. Like truth, love can be compared to a great jewel, its many facets shining differently as they catch the light, yet each facet essential to the beauty of the whole. Love is the greatest healer as you know; it heals both those who receive and those who give. Practise giving love to your enemies and those people who have irritated you or ‘got under your skin’: your irritation or hatred are transformed, you yourselves are healed of these ugly emotions, and who knows what healing can come to the receiver? Because you cannot SEE results, do not judge that there ARE none.
Love is real. We on this side can see the different kinds of light which are centred as channels by the many aspects of love being given and received. Hatred, anger, deceit and all the negative emotions shows as threads of dark greys, browns and black. These darker threads cross the channels of light, and can sometimes break or impede the flow of light. When your times of meditation or quietness are not directed specifically to any end, turn your thoughts deliberately to love. Think of friendship, love for an enemy, brotherly love, the love for the mother, love between lovers; but if you would endeavour to come nearer to one of the greatest mysteries of all time, meditate upon man’s love for the Creator, and the Creator’s love for man.” [1]

“Some people weave burlap into the fabric of our lives, and some weave gold thread. Both contribute to make the picture beautiful and unique.” - Anon.

The Divine Melody by Osho (Chapter 2, ‘Become a flame,’ 2 January 1977, Buddha Hall, Rajneesh Foundation, Pune, India, 1978).

‘Beloved Master, I Feel So Frustrated!’

“So what! You must be responsible for it. If you don't want to feel frustrated then there is no need. You must be creating it. Nobody else is responsible; if you feel frustrated, you must be reaping the crop which you go on sowing. But you don't see the relationship. If you expect too much, you will be frustrated. If you don't want to be frustrated, don't expect. Live without expectations and there will be no frustration.
But people go on expecting; they know no ends to their expectation. Then frustration comes in - frustration is the shadow of expectation. Frustration is never the problem, the problem is with expectation. When you feel frustrated you think that existence is doing something wrong to you. No - you were asking too much. In fact, ask and you will be frustrated. Any asking is asking too much. Don't ask, be. And then you will be surprised - whatsoever happens is good; you have no way to judge it.
I used to stay with a rich family in Calcutta. Once I went; the family had come to take me from the airport. The husband was very sad. I enquired, ‘What is the matter?’ He said, ‘There has been a great loss.’ Listening to this, his wife started laughing. She said, ‘Don't bother about what he says. There has been no loss - in fact, there has been a great profit."
I was puzzled. I said, ‘You both are here. Please try to explain this riddle to me.’ The wife said, ‘There is no riddle. He was expecting ten lakh rupees and he got only five lakh rupees. So he says, ‘Five lakh rupees' loss,' and I say, ‘You have profited’ - but he won't listen, and he is very said.’
When you expect ten lakh rupees and you get five lakhs you feel frustrated. If you are not expecting and you get five lakh rupees you are full of joy, thankfulness, gratitude. Don't expect, and you see your whole life becomes a joy. Expect, and your whole life becomes a hell. Expectation is the cause. If you want to change, never start by the effect, start by the cause.
Frustration is the effect. You can go on fighting with frustration - nothing will happen, you will become more and more frustrated. Start by the cause, always look for the cause. Whenever you are feeling miserable, go into it and find out where the cause is. And then it is up to you. If you want to drop the effect then avoid the cause; then become aware, more and more aware.
If you are enjoying frustration...because there are many people who enjoy. There are many people who enjoy being miserable. In fact, they cannot tolerate happiness at all. When they are miserable they are happy, when they are happy they feel very miserable. You laugh at it, but this is a truth about the majority of people. And again, there are reasons. Whenever you are miserable you gain something: sympathy, attention. Whenever you are happy nobody shows any sympathy - in fact, people become jealous. When you are unhappy everybody is a friend, everybody sympathises with you - even your enemy will sympathise with you. When you are happy even your friend will become jealous and inimical.
When you are happy nobody pays any attention to you. People avoid you. In fact, they start thinking you must be mad: Happy? - who has ever heard of anybody being happy?...must have gone crazy or something, or must be pretending. When you are unhappy they accept you. Then they think everything is okay, because this is how things have to be. And people enjoy your unhappiness, that's why they pay attention - because whenever you are unhappy they can compare themselves, and deep down they can feel good - ‘So I am in a better position. People are so unhappy! - at least I am not that much unhappy. I am unhappy, but not so much.’ He can compare. When you are happy, you bring the man down; he becomes unhappy looking at your happiness - ‘So you are happy? So you have attained?’ He will deny, he will create trouble for you.
This world consists of miserable people, unhappy people. They don't allow any happy person to live or to exist...
So if you are going into frustration and you love it and you enjoy it, then go into it more alert, aware. And enjoy it! Then don't complain, don't create a contradiction. You love frustration? - love it! Go into it. Become more artistic about it, decorate it a little more; make new possibilities, new doors to become more frustrated...if you enjoy it. If you don't enjoy it, then I don't see the problem. Just go deep into it, watch, and you will find some expectation hidden behind. Whenever you expect, you are asking for frustration. Drop expectations.
The life of a sannyasin should be a life of no expectations. And then every moment is such a bliss, such a benediction, because whatsoever God gives is so much. Then you always feel grateful. But your desires are so much that whatsoever God gives always looks so little; and you feel frustrated, and you feel complaints, and you cannot feel grateful. And without gratitude, there is no possibility of prayer arising in your heart. Gratitude is prayer.”

“Expectation is the root of all heartache.” - William Shakespeare.

“I am open to the guidance of synchronicity, and do not let expectations hinder my path.” - The Dalai Lama.

“If you are serious then you cannot flow. You cannot flow because you have a condition. Innocent laugher: it is just a way of living! Take laughing as a way of living. Exist as laughter! You will be absolutely non-serious.” - Osho.

Footnote

1.It has long been a practice in your mental hospitals to give everyone heavy medications as a way of controlling them,” says Lady Kadjina. “You are doing this with your young people by giving the Ritalin instead of answering and addressing their legitimate concerns, you are in fact sitting on them. And this is part of what is being done with the chemtrails. There are too many people asking too many questions-divert them; give them enough of something to make them ill enough so that their attention is diverted and they no longer ask questions. It is a fact that ingestion of chemicals creates an impingement upon the soul's ability to maintain control over its physical vehicle. And this is the reason for the heavy snows and the floods and the changes in wind currents that are sudden and dramatic and that help clear the atmosphere and set free the people so that they can continue to question and think…The purpose of the government using the chemtrails is to stop you from going 4th dimensional. So every time you are able to enter into the 4th dimension, you overthrow the government’s plan. I realise I am sidestepping the topic, but this is so important. Entering the 4th dimension during your times of meditation is one thing, but actually using those energies in a co-creative way with your soul, is a whole different energy. If you do not access information that you can use in a creative way during your times of meditation, then all you have accomplished is entering into a relaxation mode. When you meditate, it is important that you create something specific. One way would be to use visualisation. Another would be questions and answers directed to your high self. Communication with your eternal self should be the goal of meditation, and not simply stepping into the light and relaxing in it. You should focus upon establishing you nadial connecting systems and your chakra systems internally and then in your etheric field and then on out into the grid systems of the galaxy for the purpose of accessing workable, useable information. And all information that is being given now should be shared information.” (channelled through Kay, 1 March 2001, www.crawford2000.co.uk/kadj1.htm).
